Dear friends and colleagues,
Following the success of our first global congress in 2022, The Royal College of Radiologists will be holding a second global radiology conference in Dubai, delivered in partnership with Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE) and in collaboration with ‘Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies’ (PAARS).
Our global faculty – representing key UK societies and leading senior doctors from around the world – has developed a world class programme for senior radiologists and junior consultants.
Focusing on the theme ‘Radiology Driving Innovation’, the conference will bring together leading international experts to share best practice and discuss the latest state-of-the-art developments in radiology – and its positive impact on oncology.
The wide range of workshops, educational sessions and lectures from global clinical experts will enhance your professional development and make it a truly memorable event.
I look forward to seeing you all in Dubai in April 2024.
Dr. Kath Halliday
President, The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR)
Dear attendees,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 8th annual meeting of the Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE). This marks a new chapter for us, and our sincere aspiration is that this event will live up to the esteemed standards expected from gatherings of its kind in the UAE. Over the past year, our collaboration with the Royal College of Radiologists has been intensive, and we have endeavoured to ensure that this conference stands as a meaningful contribution to the field.
Dedicated to addressing the concerns surrounding cancer imaging, we have meticulously curated a programme spanning three days and three halls, encompassing all radiological subspecialties to comprehensively cover the nuances of cancer diagnosis and treatment. In the spirit of service to our community, the RSE aims to address topics that are not only pertinent but also directly applicable to the daily practice of healthcare professionals in our country.
To our colleagues from sister societies, your presence is valued, and we extend a warm welcome, trusting that this conference will meet your expectations. We believe the 8th annual meeting of the RSE serves as a valuable opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange, contributing to the collective growth of our field.
With utmost sincerity and anticipation,
Dr. Abdulla Alremaithi
President, Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE)
Dear valued attendees,
We extend a warm welcome to the 2nd edition of the Radiology Conference in Dubai, in partnership with ‘The Radiology Society of the Emirates’ (RSE). This year, our focus is dedicated to the critical theme of cancer updates, seamlessly continuing our commitment to radiology driving innovation.
Over the past decades, the landscape of cancer imaging has witnessed transformative shifts, accompanied by significant advancements in global cancer screening programmes. Recognizing the pivotal role of radiology in this paradigm, we believe it is our duty to not merely meet but to exceed expectations, ensuring optimal patient management.
In this conference, our intention goes beyond the surface of imaging – we aim to delve into the future of this crucial field. We explore how to establish robust cancer imaging radiology departments and foster effective communication within cancer institutions. To enrich our understanding, we have invited oncologists and surgeons to share their insights, shedding light on the challenges and nuances in their respective domains.
We take immense pleasure in presenting RCR Dubai 2024, where scientific value takes centre stage. Our esteemed speakers bring unparalleled expertise to the platform, ensuring that your investment in this conference is a wise one. It is our sincere hope that you find the experience both enriching and rewarding.
Welcome to a conference crafted with dedication and passion.
Dr. Usama Mohammad Hassan AlBastaki
Director of Diagnostic Imaging Department, Dubai Health
Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology, MBRU
This 2nd RCR global conference in Dubai provides a unique opportunity for radiologists across the globe to engage with peers and build their professional network.
Members of the RCR and RSE will be joined by PAARS members and doctors from countries around the world for a world class scientific programme. Over the course of three days, you’ll:
CPD/CME points will be awarded by both RCR and DHA for attendance at lectures, presentations and workshops.
It will feature state of the art, high-level workshops alongside networking opportunities and a chance to submit scientific abstracts and pictorial review educational abstracts.
The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is a charity that works with our members to improve the standard of medical practice across the fields of radiology and oncology. With faculties in two disciplines, the RCR and our members benefit from a fuller understanding of medical practice, across the spectrum of diagnosis and treatment.
We collaborate impartially with our members and external parties from across the medical industry, refining the latest research and guidelines into relevant applications for radiologists and oncologists. This work can be carried out efficiently because resources and processes are shared across our two faculties.
This enables us to educate and support doctors effectively throughout their career, providing practical guidance, training and assessment. In turn, input from our members, through academic contributions, professional consultation and mentorship, drives the RCR forward.
The Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE) has been an integral part of the healthcare landscape since its inception alongside the establishment of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA). Originally known as the Emirates Radiology Society, it underwent a transformative shift in 2014, rebranding itself as the Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE) to carve out a distinct identity within the medical community.
Since its inception, the RSE has been steadfast in its commitment to understanding and meeting the evolving needs of the radiological community in the Emirates. The society’s annual meetings serve as a testament to this dedication, as it consistently strives to address the pressing issues facing the field. Over the years, the RSE has forged meaningful collaborations with renowned international bodies, including the European Society of Radiology (ESR), RSNA, ACR, KSR, RSSA, and the Egyptian Society of Radiology.
In the pursuit of global excellence, the RSE is proud to announce its latest collaboration with the esteemed Royal College of Radiologists in London, a partnership that underscores the society’s commitment to delivering world-class advancements in radiology.
Beyond its annual meetings, the RSE actively collaborates with sister societies in the UAE, offering support for their events when needed, and extends its cooperative efforts to organisations such as PAIRS. Recognising the importance of industry collaboration, the society has strategically aligned itself with major industry providers in the country, ensuring the seamless delivery of continuous medical education in radiology to a diverse audience.
From its early beginnings to its current standing, the Radiology Society of the Emirates remains dedicated to advancing the field, fostering international collaborations, and providing valuable support to the radiological community in the UAE.
Following from the huge success of our first Global Congress in 2022, we’re very excited to announce that we are holding a second RCR Global Radiology Conference in Dubai, in April 2024.
Radiological advances are transforming healthcare, and diagnostic imaging has never been more critical to health systems or patient outcomes.
The event will be delivered in partnership with ‘The Radiology Society of the Emirates’ (RSE) and in collaboration with ‘Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies’ (PAARS).
Working with our partners, the 2nd RCR Global Radiology Conference in Dubai will bring together a programme of lectures, interactive sessions, lectures, parallel streams and dedicated workshops, delivered by an international faculty, including:
With sessions dedicated to the setting up cancer imaging services:
The conference is an important step towards the RCR providing more support for doctors and institutions across the world, with greater cooperation and access to RCR’s world-class education and training expertise.
And of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to network at our social events in the beautiful city of Dubai.
We will be updating the website regularly with more information about each day’s learning opportunities.
