You are invited to submit an abstract for the following competitions.
The Clinical Radiology RCR Dubai abstract competition, to be held as a part of The RCR Global Congress in Dubai 2022, which will run from Thursday, 29 September to Saturday, 1 October 2022 at the Event Centre Intercontinental, Dubai Festival City, Dubai, The United Arab Emirates.
The RCR George and Vera Ansell abstract competition, to be held as a part of the RCR 2022 Royal College of Radiologists’ annual conference, held on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 October 2022 at The Eastside Rooms, 2 Woodcock Street, Birmingham, UK.
Please be aware that if selected, you will be required to attend the relevant conference and present in-person. It is the responsibility of the presenter to bear travel and accommodation expenses.
To submit an abstract, please read all of the instructions below:
Abstract submission deadline: 1 April, 2022 – 11:59 PM (BST).
Notification on Acceptance/Rejection: Monday 6 June 2022 – 11:59 PM (BST).
Please note that only electronic submissions through the abstract submission website are accepted.
Language
All abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form on the RCR Global Congress website.
General conditions
- Abstracts are required for all e-poster and proffered paper presentations.
- Abstracts must be submitted by 1 April, 2022 – 11:59 PM (BST). Abstracts received after this time will not be accepted for judging.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Withdrawal of abstracts can only be accepted if notified in writing. It is possible to withdraw an abstract 14 days after notification on acceptance.
- If selected, it is the responsibility of the presenter to bear travel and accommodation expenses.
- For submissions to the RCR George and Vera Ansell abstract competition only, the first or second named author of an abstract must be a member or Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). Other authors do not need to be members or Fellows of the RCR. For submissions to the Clinical Radiology RCR Dubai abstract competition, authors do not need to be members or Fellows of the RCR.
- All correspondence relating to scientific abstracts will be undertaken by email with the first named author.
- Entrants will be advised no later than Monday 6 June 2022 whether their abstracts have been accepted for display or presentation at either the RCR Global Radiology Congress in Dubai or The RCR Annual Conference in the UK.
Presenting Author and Registration
- Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.
- Disclosure: Abstract submitter and presenter are required to disclose any conflict of interest.
- Ensure that all co-authors approve the abstract submission, publication, and potential presentation.
- At least one of the named authors of an abstract display must be a registered paying delegate for the conference they are submitting their abstract to. Registrations must be received by Monday 11 July 2022.
- Abstract submitters must consent to the Policies of Abstract Submission.
- Scientific committee reserves the right to exclude any abstract from the scientific program that is not followed by a participant registration at the latest 14 days after notification on acceptance.
- Hotel expenses, travel expenses and speakers’ fee will not be paid or reimbursed to any author accepted for oral presentation or e-poster display.
Contents of your abstract
- Abstracts should be based on scientific research in the area of Clinical Radiology.
- Scientific abstracts are limited to 1500 characters (approximately 250 words) from the `Purpose’ to the ‘Conclusion’ fields inclusive. (Please do not include the title and the author’s information in the text body (names and affiliations), this information will be required in the web form)
- The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study. Write the abstract title in CAPITAL LETTERS. No full stop at the end. The title of the abstract for the ePoster or presentation at the meeting should be the same as the title on the submitted abstract.
- There are no limitations on the number of abstracts that an individual can submit. However, one individual can only present a maximum of 2 abstract (independent of the format) during the entire conference. If you have more than 2 abstracts accepted, you will be obliged to identify alternate presenters for any abstract above the first two.

- All abbreviations must be defined in first use.
- No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their institution(s), when you submit your abstract online.
- Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.
- By submitting an abstract, the authors confirm that the abstract is their own original work, is not defamatory or unlawful and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
- Submission of material which has previously been submitted and or presented elsewhere is welcomed providing copyright is not infringed
- No amendments or additions to abstracts or authors can be made once your abstract has been submitted. Please ensure that all information is correct and all authors are listed when submitting.
